The former Bradford City and Bolton Wanderers boss is looking to put his own stamp on his newly inherited squad.

He has said, as per Chronicle Live: “It is a continual process of meeting Tony Coton and his scouting team in terms of going forward into January. We have had the opportunity to watch a few games.”

“Me and Steve Parkin were at a game last night looking at a few players, potential targets. The scouts have been out as well so we have been able to sit down with Tony and his team and write down a list of targets in January.”

He added: “When you are looking at players, you have got to wait until they find a replacement first. So quite often the ideal scenario doesn’t often happen. All we can do with any transfer target is make the player, the club and the agent aware of our interest and then keep it as quiet as you can. If we have to be patient, we have to be patient.”
