Leeds United man attracting interest from Championship rivals

Leeds United have enjoyed a very successful 2019/20 season so far, currently sitting in second place in the Championship table, two points behind leaders West Bromwich Albion and five points clear of third place Fulham. But some fans are worried about the clubs lack of reported movement in readiness for the up and coming January transfer window.

In a season that follows one of such promise that ended up delivering so little, the fans of the Elland Road club will be looking ahead to a successful league position come May.

Leeds United forward Patrick Bamford (9) celebrates his goal 0-1 during the EFL Sky Bet Championship match between Bolton Wanderers and Leeds United at the Macron Stadium, Bolton, England on 15 December 2018.

With main striker struggling for form at the start of the season, going some ten games without hitting the target, the Whites fans were very worried about old gremlins rearing their heads again with a flurry of missed chances threatening to derail a team who dominate every game in terms of possession and chances created, but since the turn  of November, Bamford’s form improved.

Bamford (26) now has three goals in his last four games, with a total of seven as he sits as top scorer so far for Leeds United after nineteen matches, these goals accompanied with two assists also.

The fans at Leeds took to another player while Bamford struggled, Arsenal Loanee Eddie Nketiah, who has endeared himself by scoring some incredibly important goals, five in total, even though the 20-year-old has not started a single Championship match for the Whites and he offers a totally different different dynamic to his striking colleague, something with could be invaluable to Leeds’ promotion chances this season.

Leeds United forward Edward Nketiah (14), on loan from Arsenal, during the EFL Cup match between Leeds United and Stoke City at Elland Road, Leeds, England on 27 August 2019.

But with the lack of starts, there has been rumours a plenty regarding the possibility of Arsenal recalling Nketiah in time to re-loan him to a different side in January and Bristol City are showing a real interest should this be the case, as reported in Hartlepool Mail this morning.

But Nketiah, who was on his way to Ashton Gate to talk about a loan move in pre-season, chose to drive straight past the Robins and head to Elland Road in order to secure a move to Leeds United once he heard of the interest.

Nketiah has also shown plenty of signs of being happy, despite the lack of starts, through his social media accounts, regularly posting to endear himself further to the masses in West Yorkshire.
