“We get back to doing what we need to do” – West Brom’s Dwight Gayle issues rallying cry ahead of Bolton clash

West Brom striker Dwight Gayle has issued a rallying cry to his teammates as they look to get back on track with a win against Bolton Wanderers on Monday night.

West Brom are without a win in their last three Championship games, dropping points against Sheffield Wednesday, Blackburn Rovers and fellow promotion hopefuls Norwich City.

With their game against Bolton coming up on Monday night, striker Dwight Gayle has said that they need to remain focused on the task ahead of them rather than what their promotion rivals are doing.

“Obviously you look at the other results and the standings in the league, but the most important thing is that we get back to doing what we need to do, and that’s to win games,” Gayle told the club website.

“It’s certainly going to come down to what we do at the end of the day.

“There’s no point in getting too focussed on other team’s results otherwise we’ll forget to get the result ourselves and then we’ll find ourselves struggling.

“We know Bolton are a defensive-based team and we know that we’re going to have to break them down. Any game in the Championship is going to be difficult. We know we’ll have to bring our A-game and be up for it.

“It’s very important for us to get three points, but they obviously need the three points themselves so it’s going to be a tough one. We’re looking forward to it.”

The Baggies’ top scorer went on to discuss the club’s recent trip to Dubai, as Darren Moore took advantage of a nine-day break.

“It was good for the team to get away and have a different training atmosphere,” Gayle added.

“The boys were all together, we bonded really well and had a nice time. Hopefully, we can get back on the pitch now and get focused on what we need to do against Bolton.”

The Newcastle United loanee has been in fine form since returning to the Championship with West Brom this season, Gayle has scored 14 goals for The Baggies, making him the club’s top scorer one goal ahead of Jay Rodriguez.
